Job Description

Our client, a respected and growing litigation firm, is seeking a Medical Malpractice Litigation Defense Attorney with at least two years of litigation experience to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to further develop their litigation skills while working on sophisticated medical malpractice and healthcare-related matters.

Responsibilities

  • Defend healthcare providers, hospitals, medical groups, and other healthcare entities in medical malpractice litigation matters.
  • Manage cases through all stages of litigation, including pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and trial preparation.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and mediations.
  • Collaborate with clients, experts, and colleagues to develop case strategy and achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients and provide timely case updates.

Qualifications

  • Active California Bar license in good standing.
  • 2+ years of litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice, healthcare litigation, insurance defense, professional liability, or civil defense litigation.
  • Strong legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Experience handling discovery, taking and defending depositions, and drafting substantive motions.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently while working collaboratively with a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
